North Carolina's Gambling Options

Casinos, lottery and sport betting are the main three types of gambling now available in NC. There are three tribal casinos operated by Native American reservations that offer slot machines and electronic games. The North Carolina Education Lottery provides various games, and charitable bingo halls operate throughout the state. But the most notable offering comes from the recent launch of NC sports betting in March 2024. Already, the concerns about the societal impacts from it - mainly gambling addiction - are growing.
